Empty commercial spaces...
...students looking for a place to exhibit their works
Why not using empty shops to disply art?
Inner city centres becoming more vivid by works of art presented in empty spaces.
The concept aims to
-
enable students to show their works in non-institutional spaces
-
democratise the understanding of art as these works are visible 24/7
-
revitalise deserted streets
-
promote the (re)discovery of the city
The first exhibition took place in 2015. Several locations were occupied and a former shopping centre served as starting point for the opening. Since then different expositions have took place and a new committee is since then still continuing this work in Le Mans, France.
The project attained a large public response and won three prizes in a competition encouraging young business concepts.
